Congratulations are in order for CCALS founding board member Dr. James C. Haug on his promotion to full professor at Longwood University (Longwood). Haug has been an Associate Professor of Management at Longwood University’s College of Business and Economics, teaching both graduate and undergraduate classes, since 2007. His promotion is effective August 2023.

“Jim has been a guiding force behind CCALS from the very beginning,” said CCALS Board Chair Dawit Haile. “His insights and ideas, along with his astute business acumen and meticulous attention to detail, have been invaluable.” As well as being a founding member, Haug serves as the Treasurer on the CCALS Board.

Prior to his tenure at Longwood, Haug was as an Organizational Business Analyst and Contracts subject matter expert with Quality Technical Services, Inc. in Virginia Beach. Before that he was a tenured Associate Professor for Troy University, teaching in both the Atlantic and Florida regions. He was the program manager for the Master of Science in Management degree, and also taught over 200 graduate level courses in the MBA, MSHRM and MPA programs.

During his 20-year career in the U.S. Navy, he served as the Director of the Contracts Group and Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Navy Public Works Center, Pensacola, FL, where he managed the solicitation, award, and administration of construction, repair, maintenance, equipment installation, planning and design work valued at over $35 million per year.

Haug holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Management Engineering from Columbia University, a Master of Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Doctor of Business Administration from George Washington University, Washington, DC. He is professionally registered in California as a Manufacturing Engineer, and is certified to teach the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People Signature Edition course originated by the Franklin Covey organization.
