Virginia’s Governor-elect Ralph Northam accepts Blueprint Virginia 2025 from Barry Duval, President and CEO Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Virginia’s path to prosperity must include emphasis on innovation, training and education, and logistics. This was one takeaway from Blueprint Virginia 2025, a comprehensive plan for business leadership, direction, and long-range economic planning from the Virginia Chamber of Commerce (Chamber). Blueprint Virginia 2025 was released Dec. 1, 2017 at the 8th Annual Virginia Economic Summit. CCALS was proud to participate as a sponsor in the summit, Strengthening Virginia’s Future, attended by over 900 business leaders.
Barry Duval, President and CEO of the Chamber, presented Blueprint Virginia 2025 to Governor-elect Ralph Northam and members of the Virginia General Assembly at the conference. Northam was also the conference’s keynote speaker.
The release was the culmination of a year-long process to collect input on the priorities of the business community to strengthen Virginia’s economic climate. The importance of logistics was emphasized throughout the well-received document, with CCALS called out specifically in the Innovation, Technology and Entrepreneurship section.
Blueprint Virginia 2025 enjoyed a very positive reception, with the Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial board citing its “careful work and sensible ideas.” CCALS looks forward to partnering with the Chamber on this effort in months and years ahead.
