Dr. Dawit Haile Elected Chair of the Board for CCALS

Dr. Dawit Haile has been elected the Chair of the Board for Commonwealth Center for Advanced Logistics Systems (CCALS).

Dr. Haile is a professor of Computer Science and Mathematics and is currently serving as a Dean for the College of Engineering and Technology and Interim Dean for the College of Natural and Health Sciences at Virginia State University (VSU)

EDA awards $70K grant to Crater Planning District Commission

The Petersburg Progress-Index reports that the U. S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) recently announced the Crater Planning District Commission will receive a $70,000 economic development grant award to be matched with $30,000 in Commission funds, to enable the Commission to continue important economic development initiatives in the region.
