A Few Examples …
The Future of Cyber Security
More than ever, it’s vital to nurture future talent for the cyber security workforce pipeline.
The Port of Virginia set up a new cyber security operations center and worked with cybersecurity interns from CCALS partner universities to develop curriculum for summer projects on cyber risk management or operational technology/information technology networks for resilient port operations.
Keep Virginia Ready
Is Virginia’s FirstNet Public Safety Broadband Network robust enough to support the state’s First Responders?
CCALS university members UVA and ODU are evaluating the system, with each university providing a different perspective. The resulting report, along with a video animation for interpreting priorities, roles and benefits, will help keep the Commonwealth prepared.
A Game of Traffic Jam
Can a tracking system help a bottle neck? When trucks entered the Port of Virginia clearinghouse to pick up containers, they were in a tracking no-mans-land.
CCALS worked with POV to eliminate the resulting inefficiencies with a logistics tracking system that has reduced turnaround time for vehicles.
